Katie Osterritter is a nursing excellence leader who helps healthcare organizations strengthen professional practice, elevate nursing culture, and build the structures that allow teams to thrive. With a foundation in Professional Governance, evidence-based practice, and frontline engagement, she brings a practical and collaborative approach to supporting organizations as they advance their nursing excellence journeys.

Since starting her nursing career in 2019, Katie has been deeply committed to shared decision-making and elevating the voice of the clinical nurse. She led and launched multiple Professional Governance councils early in her career, helping to establish the communication, accountability, and interdisciplinary collaboration that drive meaningful culture change. These experiences shaped her ability to guide organizations in developing governance structures that support autonomy, clarity, and team alignment.

Katie’s work centers on helping organizations build the essential elements of a healthy nursing culture. She supports the development and optimization of Professional Governance, assists teams in preparing for Magnet® and Pathway to Excellence® culture expectations, and collaborates with leaders to create systems that strengthen nurse engagement, recognition, and psychological safety. She also brings expertise in crafting evidence-based narratives, analyzing nursing-sensitive outcomes, and translating complex standards into straightforward, achievable strategies that move organizations toward their goals.

In every partnership, Katie focuses on helping teams build skills, processes, and relationships that make excellence sustainable. She emphasizes clear communication, meaningful use of data, effective leadership behaviors, and the development of structures that allow nurses to participate fully in decision-making. Her approach is grounded in the belief that when nurses are empowered, organizations can achieve stronger outcomes, better retention, and a more cohesive professional identity.

Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2020 and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of South Carolina in 2024. She is board-certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing and was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the South Carolina Nurses Association for the 2026–2027 term.
